As a community savings bank, ESB Bank recognizes "Our Responsibility" to give our time, skills and resources to improve the quality of life in our communities. This role is the way we do business and so important to us that its one of our six core values we share.

Through our Community Service Program ESB Bank employees are encouraged to become actively involved in our communities and may also be paid for time spent volunteering during the regular workday. During 2007, ESB Bank employees contributed over 4,600 hours of community service hours to organizations ranging from schools, churches and volunteer fire departments to youth organizations and participation in charitable fundraisers. Each year we recognize the top "Shining Stars" during a Community Service Recognition luncheon.

ESB Bank is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through June 30, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

On May 20, 2009, the temporary increase in FDIC insurance to $250,000 per depositor was extended through December 31, 2013.
